A Girl Dreaming of Nature
Oh, moaning forest and plants comely,
Birdies all murmuring a sweet chorus;
Trees high above create a ceiling,
The wind whispering and weeping wildly.
And in my dream, I am dreaming,
I am lost in a tangled green forest;
And in the green, I am me, me only.
Oh, blazing colors of delight,
Fragmenting images so hypnotic;
This fantasy haven sumptuous,
A night quite bright with wild sights.
I stroll about presumptuous,
And I am ethereal, exotic;
I love this dream, dreading daylight.
Oh, little sea horse with wings,
You really belong in water drifting;
But like a hummingbird you drink flowers;
I stand still staring at shimmering things.
I am caressed by soft rain showers,
And my imagination comes floating;
Then sweetly, joyfully, my heart sings.
Oh, moaning forest and plants comely,
Birdies all murmuring a sweet chorus;
Trees high above create a ceiling,
The wind whispering and weeping wildly.
And in my dream, I am dreaming,
I am lost in a tangled green forest;
And in the green I am me, me only.
