A Girl
Come close and hear this story
about a little girl who didn't have a chance
Her safe place was a round house on the ocean
T'was there that she could twirl and dance
Anywhere else was a life filled with pain
and loved ones treating her mean
She was young and innocent and scared
and was only allowed from her room to clean
She had no childhood to speak of
shame and guilt kept her locked in a cage
when in the real world she just played along
but as to how to be normal she could only gauge
She grew into a woman faster then most
having been thrown into a grownups role
she just made the best of every situation
only ever really wanting to crawl into a hole
Being alone was he way of being happy
she had no one to predict or to please
she, herself was good enough company
being alone was surely a breeze
One day this woman but still a girl
met someone who showed she had worth
hew taught her the things she had wanted
all the things she had missed out on since birth
Now this woman is happy
thanks to a man and hard work of her own
It's her wish that anyone with this story
will be willing and able to be shown
