A Gift of Gold
A mystery package has arrived for me,
un-labelled seeds, what could they be?
I’m told I’ll receive unrivaled riches,
If I sow them in very deep ditches
I get busy with my garden spade,
planting them in the partial shade
I water them, hoping they’ll grow,
soon long green shoots begin to show
They grow so tall they reach the sky,
and huge flower heads appear up high
The flower heads open and lo and behold,
I’ve stunning sunflowers of glowing gold
Their jaunty yellow is so vibrant and sunny,
the joy they give can’t be bought by money!
