A Gift of Blood (One Summer Long-Ago)

Dad worked all night.....

Once a week
He would go give blood

...... for $15.00

Fatigued even more,
He set his jaw, and went back to work--

I got a new bicycle that Christmas......

                         a gift--

                                  of

                                     Dad's

                                           blood

Now this is the ultimate sacrifice of love, not only working all night, but giving blood weekly just to earn enough money to buy that new bidycle. Such a gift deserves to be appreciated and remembered in this lovely verse. Love, Carolyn

Oh how they worked blood sweat and tears to make sure we had what they didn't. A salute to your dad, a wonderful man who passed his values on to you. ~Trudy~
