A Gift Like Grace
Grace is a gift man's just born with,
Like feelings, green eyes, or red hair,
Grace is sun you expect every morning,
Or rainbow blessed cloudburst that softens day's air.
Grace is a girl in a picture
That haunts you in ways you just feel,
Is the child of a stranger that taunts you
Incredibly she seems to serve some ideal.
Grace forgives sin you don't know of
When cockiness tells you you're fine
Though OK with her, world sees no changes
You keep taking bites but pretend not to dine!
Grace takes folks reeking of garlic
No lock on her door! Don't need coin,
But what saves her from you is ***** adage,
"What fool fancies club that invites him to join?" (1)

(1) A famous quote attributed to Groucho Marx, “I sent the club a wire stating, PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER.”
