A Giant Orb
A giant orb in the horizon,
looking for a safe place to land,
it carries the members of an entire planet,
running away from the laser attack
by an enemy whose conscience did lack.
It occurred in the dead of night when all asleep,
woke up from bright laser beams knocking
down structures that were once tall and lean,
scattering residents like ants in a sandy colony,
by the wrath of foreign invaders without apology.
Over the years, the planet exercised escape routes
to the giant orb which was their life line,
sirens wailed throughout the dark and dismal night,
all fleed with clothes on their backs and fright.
The new planet welcomed them with open arms,
reminding them of their humble beginnings
when they had to flee from their homes also,
rushing as they ran for their lives from an enemy,
ruthless invaders determined to destroy identity.
