A Ghost's Embrace

Future soul needs saved,
by a ghost from her past
Caring and loving presence,
a spirit none can surpass

A being that needs that touch,
advise from back in the day
An essence that left this earth
One forgiving ones misguided ways

Fool who made many wrong descions,
needs daddy's strong embrace
Comforted with a "Daddy knows!"
Arms that kept her safe

Need of my essence saved,
take it when next you go
Wrapped in a fathers love,
beg you to keep me whole

How will we meet again,
if I'm damaged once more
Your baby girl needs you,
so please save my broken soul

Thank you Dear Heart he and I didn't get to spend much time together but his last 6 months he and I had become pretty close! And I do miss him and time we never spent!((

This is really all rather touching, Brenda; it has that obvious Sylvia Plath feel about it all...but, unlike many of Plath's sad poems, in your poem here there is an underlying sense of real unconditional love and unstinting support. Simple and without fanfare -- but powerful in its impact! Great piece of poetry, Poetess. With much fondness. :) john

so sad, Brenda!! I like to think the spirits of those fondest to us are looking down on us.
