A Gallant, Unbidden

A gallant, unbidden, appeared one night
inside my room; mere words he never spoke!
He came creeping softly in the moonlight.
A gallant, unbidden, appeared one night
with caresses so sweet I felt it might
have only been a dream once I awoke.
