Notes About The Poem

Anyone who smokes while driving has probably experienced this, or something similair to this before..lol

A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To the Dance

A funny thing happened
On the way to the dance
An hot ash from my cigar
Fallen onto my pants

Driving in my car
A fast fifty five
I lost control of the wheel
Thank god, I'm alive!

From all of my commotion
My cigar flew from my hand
So I pulled off of the road
To see where it land

I looked under my seat
And by my side door
On top of the dashboard
And of course, on the floor

It was nowhere to be found,
I don't know where it flew
Until I felt something burning
Inside of my shoe...Ouch!

I jumped like a rabbit
And shouted "what the hell"
Than I laughed to myself
When I saw where it fell

Burnt a hole in my sock
Burnt a hole in my pants
I Never got out of my car
But boy, I did dance

When that funny thing happened
While driving in my car
I just laughed and I just giggled
And I relit, my cigar

oh my, you did GREAT. Now I feel inspired to try this contest!! Love how you did this. Reminds me of the time my dad took me on a road trip and his ash from cigarette he was smoking flew back and burned me and made a hole in my outfit I had sewn myself in home-ec. Sure scared me!

I'm sure it scared the heck out of you, but you should have taught your dad how to sew, so he could fix the hole he burnt in your outfit..lol Thanks Andrea, so much appreciate your kindness. I'm sure you'll do great as well! Charlie
