I was so amazed about the direction of the Republican debate last night; I felt driven to write this.
Were these the same candidates?
A funny Thing Happened By Franklin Price 3/11/2016 A funny thing happened in last night's debate, Among the four vying for the U.S.A.'s fate. I thought the world surely had come to an end When they debated the issues no name calling to send. The beginning was ominous a feeling was there, That this debate would be serious and the fighting be fair, Would be no name calling or comparing of hands, But the addressing of issues to see where each of them stands. This can't be happening, I thought in my mind. I better stop watching or I'll go deaf, dumb and blind. This can't be real this is not who they are. What have they been smoking? I think not a cigar. It kept going on, a few slips fell in line. Compared to before they were more than just fine. None of them chose to go off to the dump. Wonder of wonders, not even the Trump When the debate was all over, and closing words said. Had to pinch on myself to see if I was dead. What I had witnessed could surely not last. Nasty surely returning as it was in the past. But maybe just maybe they had seen the light. That personal taunting was really not right. Civility had raised its more than fine head, Had me feeling more hopeful as I went to my bed.
