A Full Moon

A full moon will always energize the spirit Inviting haunting light to evening romance Moving across night skies in a slow dance. A full moon softly whispers until we hear it Compelling us to stop, to consider its magic Often calling forward times that were tragic. A full moon tantalizes as we draw near it Ethereal, mystical, hiding long-held secrets Often making the restless lover sleepless.

Thank so much, Evelyn. It started out to be another form, but the poem sort of took over and this is what came of it. I was pleased.

Wonderful write Milton incorporating the full Moon's effect on lovers. Love the theme and the climatic ending of the energized two Lovers... Wrote you a request on Gershon's Poem, To Travel The World.

A full moon does crazy things to us. Who can explain the spells it casts? I've stared at them with a loved one, but they only make me sad to look at them alone. The validation code for this comment is TRY.

Thanks, Jenna. Indeed, it does. How do we explain that so often, I have noticed, the validation code has a message for us about the very thing we are validating. Strange.....

Thank you, Bill. Actually, it began as a Villanelle, but something happened along the way. I suppose that happens to all of us now and then.

Guess that would be a head-rhyme instead of a tail-rhyme, eh? Interesting - I like it!

I thought the same thing as it was developing, Jeff. And, as I mentioned to Bill, it started out as a Villanelle, but it simply wouldn't take, so it ended up being a reverse end-rhyme??? Sometimes when a poem won't work it is simply because you have the wrong form.

Beautiful poetry, Milton. You managed to approach with novelty and beauty one of the subjects that poets mention most!
