A Friend Indeed

I woke I stretched
I scrambled out of bed
I had the need to rush
For I had a pain in the Gut

…

I headed for the Dunny
To release the cause of my pain
The pain subsided as I sat
Such relief… I’m happy again

…

But it wasn’t long before I was back again
T o visit my new found friend
A friend indeed it proved to be
Because I visited quite often

…

Black tea and dry toast
Is all that can I manage
But the pain kept returning
So on my friend I kept calling

…

Through out the day and night
On my friend I kept calling
Oh so glad my friend was close
Avoided embarrassing moments

…

A miserable time I had
For the next day or two
But my visits to my friend
Gradually reduced in number
