A Friend
A Friend is that fellow
that touches you with so much love
that all you can do is just follow
and look up to like the stars above
A Friend is that person
that knows your every worth
and bestows every blessing
even though you've been uncouth
A Friend, oh, how pleasant is he!
your heart leaps for joy at the sight of him
you wish and wish, to always be
wherever the rays of his friendship beam
A Friend is a person who takes to you
not for money, nor for gain,
nor to take you as a fool
he shares in your every pang and pain
A Friend is like diamonds, so precious
hard to find, harder to desert
you cherish them more with each passing hour
like winter'd streams in a sun-baked desert
