A Friend

A friend to me You have lent
Here I am, allowed to vent
my frustrations, angers, dreams and visions spent.
All that I hide, all I have that torments-
I release and turn from and I repent
and realize I have given consent
to another person to some extent,
part of my nature, previously bent
things I thought were set in cement,
I let "me" out, without relent.
God send me to the one that I am sent
if only for the simple intent
of giving friendship as a present
such a sweet smell and pleasant scent
and when I walk away each day, yes, I am content.
