A Friend
A friend is like a radio receiver:
fine-tuned to your heart's frequency.
And who is uniquely able to decipher garbled broadcasts
redacted by embracement: and encrypted by fear.
Ignoring the ubiquitous white noise:
a friend, instinctively blocks out the interference
that prevents others from receiving
subtle messages, your heart is sending.
Communication is the key to understanding:
understanding is the key to friendship.
A friend doesn't wait to be asked:
they volunteer their time and always go that extra mile.
That is why a dog is hailed as Man's best friend,
they don't judge or criticize: they wag their tails,
and show you how happy they are to be with you.
