A Frankenstein Party
“A Frankenstein party,” someone told me,
“will be at tea time. You must be rich
and have a pass to get into this party.”
They also said it helped to be a witch
or some kind of monster, so I assumed
I'd need a costume too, and then I thought
perhaps I could sneak in, for I am doomed
where riches are concerned! I went and got
the costume of a monster big and hairy.
Good thing inside the window I first peeked.
I would have looked the fool and not so scary
as what I saw inside there. Wow. I freaked!
I saw Big Pharma types and business guys,
well-known world leaders and celebrities.
Not one of them was wearing a disguise.
To see them had me shaking at the knees.
It’s surely true – no costumes did they need,
for monsters of the world they are indeed.
