A Fork In the Road

I've come upon a fork that's in the road
The choice that I must make will change my life
Now will one life there be in this abode
Or share it with the one who'd be my wife
I've seen the joys and pains that others get
When they decide to share each others heart
Now some will last a lifetime but some let
In troubles of this world to wit they part
I think if they should each decide to make
The other more important then themselves
They will forever have a hand to take
Instead of just some memories on shelves
I think the road I'll take I now decide
Will be the one in which I do not hide
