A Fool's Love

They say love is a fool's game,

Yet I hate that I love you.

I hate how my heart belongs to you.
I hate how every thought returns to you.
I hate how you don't belong to me.

Tell me, why?

When I ask the stars what is radiance,
they speak of your smile.

When I ask the moon what is grace,
it speaks of your elegance.

And when I look into your eyes,
I find myself imprisoned in beauty.

Yet even then,
you still cannot be mine.

I hate how love has made me your fool.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Welcome to Poetry Soup. I welcome you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
