Notes About The Poem

8/1/2026 for Eight By Eight Poetry Contest sponsored by Nette Onclaud

A Fog Returns

The road to school, obscured, clouded
by something new, eerie but fun -
bright voices shone through the thick fog.
Oh, how we laughed at feeling lost.

Now, another fog, descended,
an elder now, those days are done,
and one last time, before they fade,
I play those voices once again.

David: I can't handle how much you have advanced in writing emotional depth, your 'poem emotions' blows me away. Last stanza almost brought on tears. I am proud as I believe I said, 'yeah you can' many a time. I'd hug you if I had longer arms. Love your foggy 8x8. I am back from being gone, I shouldn't assume you noticed since I'm a frequent and skilled disappearer.
