Showers splash
Caressing the earth
In laughing drops
Submerging trees
In gentle breezes
Symphony of whispers
Silent like the moon
Who shines through
A heavy rainfall
Thundering crashes
Tumbling from heaven
With breathless abandon
Naked like the wind
Who sighs in the limbs
Surrounding forest
With waving branches
Who long to embrace
The hopes of a moment
Spent inside this place
Where feelings light
The way toward day
And awaken the heart
To God’s kindness
Generosity and love
Lighting the path
To dreams who survive
The rain and storm
The shadows so forlorn
Brightening a life
With hope that takes away
All fear and dread
Worries that beckon
From grief and sorrow
It is God’s light
Who survives the night
To reach out to the heart
With assurance that this light
Will fall across the life
Who chooses to seek God’s grace
And feel the joy of sweet praise
Filling up a soul so they can face
Every darkness, every dread
Even the pain that penetrates
The surface of kindness
With a prayer of faith
And a second chance to say
God is the only way
To face even the darkest day
God’s light is bright
And it shines on the inside
Where I know God is alive
Building a flaming fire
Of love that ignites a light
That dances through this life
On the wings of the spirit’s desire
This is the storm that is inspired
By emotion caught up in a light
That only God could incite
