A Fire For My Love - XI to XX

Before the gates of Hestia stood Prometheus and the Maid;
On which was carved a giant figure of the Dragon made;
Below this carving text in words as bold as salient day;
To any wayward visitor who would dare this way to stray:

"Behold, I Dragon Eroldelm do guard a God's domain;
And should you deem your visit just then call aloud my name;
But be advised my powers will a God's full measure test;
Let it be known your presence here has cause is not for jest"

Prometheus bade the Maid to call and soft the Dragon speak;
For only she with lover's quest can Hestia's fire seek;
"I call the great Eroldelm to consider this request;
Please grant me passage and assist me with a heartfelt quest"

Now Eroldelm assumed the form by majesty inspired;
And dwarfed the two who now stood fixed in awe by what transpired;
For multi-coloured light waves rippled gently through his mail;
Caressing every curve and fold from tip of head to tail.

Around his neck a solid chain with golden key pendant;
The very air did throb and heave to hear his words incant;
"That which you see entrusted here a key to gain access;
But only one with worthy cause can hope to here progress.

But how my eyes perceive a Maid, barefoot, no sword nor shield;
Who seeks to conquer here without a weapon she may wield.
Speak bold with heart and tell me how you'll cross this Ancient's path;
Where many Gods have sought a route but fail and never pass?"

"I once did bid the Gods for aid whilst in a sorrow state;
To find a loving partner for we two to share a fate;
Though tricked and made a plaything by a God lax-whimsical;
I now alight upon a path to right that wrong in full.

There burns a precious flame eternal in this heavenly place;
No smouldering, wavering fire but a light of sweet solace;
I am but here to bargain for this gift to aid my plight;
I am a servant of the Gods and would to serve them right"

"These words you speak do touch this Dragon's heart I do confess;
I therefore give you pass to aid your cause to be addressed;
Though you are pure and simple still this riddle holds your fate;
If you should answer true you gain a passage through this gate.

I am that which regality bends a knee to and divides;
I am where Joy and Pleasure dances hand-in-hand with Pride;
I see where airy creatures roam, inconstant winds abide;
What might I be and tell me true where I do now reside?"
