A Fever Dream

Woken from this perfect dream, to an image of your reflection
Broken hearts; willed this bitter, fitting ending; our course correction
I'll lose myself in anguish; closing my mind; shutting down all affection
Not just about me; it's what we deserve; no love found, in our direction
I thought I could break down the barricade to your heart; never made it across the road, or intersection
A fever dream; a broken frame; shattered glass; never a picture worth remembering; in retrospection
