A Faded Rose

A faded rose from days gone by
Just sitting in the dark
Faded petals and dried up leaves
On my soul there’s a question mark.

Why is this rose all dried up,
And faded by the way?
Why is it sitting in the dark
And not in the light of day?

In three more days, will things be better,
Will this rose bloom once again?
The reason this rose is in the dark
Is because of mankind’s sin.

This rose is not really faded,
But it’s a temporary death.
Soon this rose will live again
So we can take a spiritual breath.

The Rose of Sharon rose again
No longer lying in the dark.
But living saving, healing and filling
On our souls, He’s left His mark.
