A Drunk
A Drunk
A Drunk
I am sober
He was already in the traffic when I saw him.
Walking oh so carefully.
Carrying something in his sack.
Only GOD knows what.
Threading through the traffic;
Looking right at me.
He held up his hand as if to stop the cars,
and yes they did they let him come,
over to the sidewalk where I stand.
He was not too clean and I could see that,
shiny pants as if they had been worn
more than just today,a while,a week,
mabe more.
Are you all right he said as if he could help me.
I just kept walking, a nickel in my pocket.
Knowing that nothing he had would help me anyway.
He is ADrunk today.
