A Drop In the Ocean
Mysterious, mystifying, puzzling, wavering
an echo fills the empty catacombs
reciting words only heard from a movie
...Mirror, dear benevolent mirror crystallized on the wall
please, please tell me, aid me in my quest of knowledge
to know...who is the fairest of them all
'Why does it matter? Do you hear yourself speaking?
Why should any of that matter if the only one in the mirror is you? '
Why should it matter if the only person in the mirror is you? ...
Beauty...it's not a contest, no question about it
It's in everyone, everything
but people use its concept as a blindfold
transform it into a personal goal
a personal gain to be another conforming carbon cut out
to feel perfection coursing through their veins
Are they all vain; perfection is false, a distant myth
Beauty is a ticking clock that fades away with age
There it is, gone in the wind
Open your eyes and realize
mirrors are designed to show you the real you
Not a clone, not a fake, not a copy of imperfection
people are perfect just the way they are
Under all the lies that claim to beautify
to some, all you are is a drop in the ocean
though they're sinking like ships in their own
