A Drop in a Bucket
Last night moonlight swam
over the brimming surface
of the water bucket.
Now, sitting on a porch step,
I'm watching high sunny showers form
elliptical dewy spheres.
One droplet falls
into the rain bucket – just one.
A ripple piddles over an edge.
Breezes shake themselves dry.
A thousand miles away
a frog begins to sing to a puddle.
