A Drink To the Cold

The Winter weather is here and it's cold Colds not much fun if you are homeless or old But some like cold cheer And drink ice cold beer But when you're cold whiskeys' best so I'm told. Written on 6th January 2019 For same word winter limerick poetry contest. Sponsored by Charles Messina. ( chosen word is cold )

Well written Tom! FYI, I keep my Jameson in my freezer. It will not freeze and there is no better way to take a shot once in a while.

And the whiskey doesn't even have to be cold to give you that warm rush before heading outdoors. I should think it would be hard to repeat the same word in each line, but you did it very well, Tom! Best wishes in the contest, Carolyn

Tom, it is a conspiracy. This is the third time this week I have heard whiskey when thinking about the perpetual two week cold I have had. Hmmmmm Your limerick may have been written to give me a push in a certain direction. Good luck in the contest my friend.

Thanks Caren, a quarter of whiskey, three quarters boiling water and two spoons of sugar, stir well let it cool and drink it as hot as you can, next day you should feel better. Works for me. Tom.
