A Dream, To Dream

A gently breeze swept the world that morning, cold and still was the day Gusty shifting winds arose in all directions, dreams flew by with each passing gust Hopes of a better tomorrow lingered for their own rememberance in lost minds at play The wind chimes sang in low tone, yet solid tunes they were, and there is stood a lovely melody Tall standing trees extended their arms in all direction shaking hands with the breath of the earth Compromises to be, yet not a single guaranteed deal firmly stood, the world in anger frowned The clouds above glided in a peaceful manner, crying in different places to maintain life itself Who am I but a simple poet, one whom writes of the vast planet, where life is perishing down Empty medows lay, where once herds of animals nested to preserve the cycle Water flows to vertical limits, and slowly lakes grow smaller and smaller, melting is the huge icycle The heavens are angry, they heat to extreme levels and the ocean continues to rise Life itself leaves for security as this planet of ours grows colder by the day, there's no surprise Enourmous mountains oversee the world that spins in its axis, it dies a little with every turn I shall never write to see the day when the heavens themselves burn One can make a difference to which love can generate a better world to dwell in Fear not the changing winds for the rays of light chant to the worlds sin Look towards the skies, pardon my soul for it slowly departs into a different realm where a smile glows Love there flys all over the open sky Fight for tomorrow, stand for what your heart feels for even if it kills you inside, I die An open heart learns, yet a closed heart only grows harder in style A dream speaks unto your imagination of what joy can be Only thy heart can dance for your glee to be free I can still hear the wind chimes rattle away in tune to scream I awake unto my dreams's dream

Good grief....I tried to get into my outbox to get rid of that extra "out", here...and to fix the word "resuscitate" in my last comment..oh well, I guess I should be more careful and focused...sighhh..:)

G'day Eduardo. Beautiful imagery; it feels quiet and serene, yet still, questing and turbulent. "Dreams", avenues of hope and fertility? Perhaps without out them one's heart and mind becomes shut off and stagnant. I enjoy your long and pensive lines and how they strum and resonate through our senses. God bless...best to you and yours...Mikki

The everchanging signs of nature in your poem are beautifully described, and I love the way you tie these changes into the changes in a closed and open heart. Striking images! Best wishes, Carolyn
