A Dream of Forever

A Dream of Forever

Paint to paper
A dream of forever
However far away
No matter the distance
The colors still remain
To capture the memories
Lost in the grave
Or in the midst of everything else

What we choose to remember
Whispers amongst strangers
Fading away as do dreams
Fireworks and chandeliers
A spectacle,
All the rave
Close the curtains and dim the lights
Others could do without
Sticking their noses in our house
Hands over eyes
As the day dies

I hold onto the hem of your shirt
For as long as I can hold a grip
Of our time on this earth
Trying to comprehend
Why it all came to an end

The sun is in your eyes
Stars are in mine

Barefoot walking in the grass
Bury the lights that have you trapped inside your mind
In the dead of night

Stay if you may
But only if out of my way

I fade out in time in the dark of night
Circles in the rain
Salty waves swept my heart away

How do you sleep
With all those memories
Of our haunted enchanted love story
How dare I call you mine
A free spirit journeying through time

Saw me at my worst
And continued to dig
Deep down into my pit
With no remorse no wit

The truth is clear in dimly lit places
My glory days
Shall never fade away
