A Dream of Flying
I run in the field
as a ghost,
and think- Lift!
and do-
light and free from gravity
and Gulliver’s ropes
which fall easily away
beneath me.
I go high and higher
above the trees,
the rises,
the factory smokey curls,
above the others below.
They look up,
then down to their next step,
and the next.
