A Dream of Being a Poet
With a clicking of my typewriter
way back when
I would sit for hours and start writing with my pen
I had visions of seeing my words heard by many
I believe my age was nineteen going on twenty
Though I had no previous schooling on the subject
One of these days I would be seen by the public
With my dictionary by my side
I wrote with all my pride
A rush of emotions would hit during the hour
I even had thoughts while standing in my shower
Soon there was nothing that I didn’t see
That brought out the poet in me
So I stopped to marry this fellow
He was kind of mellow
I would sit and write all through the night
I stopped to become a Mother
that took me away from my other,
passion in my life
So now I’ve found the time to wish away and rhyme
And my dream I dreamed came true
I’m so glad I had that view
Now I’m a published poet
Who ever knew?
