A Dream
Be still
Be quiet
I demand of my heart
For others will hear us weeping
The scar tissue that hides us is only so thick
The sound of 1000 deaths only muffled slightly by the shield of thick hardened skin
It’s enough to bring you to your knees.
The anguished cry of every life lived without her love
I’ve memorized every twinkle, every smirk
And the curve of her lips when she laughs
These yummy chemicals in my brain screaming at me that I need her to live
Maybe they're right
This electricity between us, palpable
Tangible
I know to touch her skin it would be an unfathomable ecstasy
A bliss I know I do not deserve
And the one beautiful day my begging lips crash into hers I fear I’ll never be able to stop loving her
