A Dog Gone Tableau

“You become responsible forever for what you’ve tamed.” from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince Though he yapped and whined, I still loved him so. He was my dear friend. He'd turned old and blind when we let him go. How can my heart mend? Written 10/15/14 by Andrea Dietrich For the Design Your Tableau Contest of nette onclaud

Hi Andrea...the subject matter is great and heart touching; all of us pet lovers know what it means to lose any of these special friends. On the technical side....you won me over by the rhyme pattern...it flows effortlessly. Well done! // paul

Such meaning put into so little words. It's the reason I will not have another pet.

This so reminds me of the movie Marley and me. You wrote this with such skill all the while your heart was breaking. Having a heart is what keeps us human. Keep your love alive. Peace. :)

It is always painful to see them go one day. Even after leaving these beautiful and loyal friends continue to live in our , memory for a very long time to come. I can understand your feelings as I too missed my dog about 3 years back. It’s a touching write dear friend in the memory of your loving friend. Love and best wishes always...Ravindra K Kapoor

What creative rhyming scheme abcabc. Touching and emotional. Tells a consice story. Pleasing to the ears. I don't think there is anything you missed. This is a Grand Slam!
