A Distance To Overcome A time to contemplate repercussions is intense And not pretend innocence of wrong decisions, The distance from here to eternity is immense, In derision of my contemptuous revisions. Is there need for more, or is it dissatisfaction? That prevents escape from this shoreline apathy. The villagers appear content in their positions, To watch waves breaking like time piece contingencies. “Out there!” they point and say when I stare in puzzlement. “You’ll get there one day; why be in such a hurry?” This thing I run from and chase is my dilemma, And not be held accountable before expiry; By a surprise situation analysis, Leaving me mired down and desolate, insistent; In stubbornness, overwhelmed by paralysis Because I was afraid to overcome the distance.
