A Desire To Be Loved

Under the glow of the red light
Is a voluptuous woman with money in her sight
Putting away her dignity day & night
Sorrows she can't tell but can only hide

After a long night of decadence is over
She goes to her land of dreams
Awaits her is a knight in shiny armor
Her own imaginary prince

Someone that'll listen to her sorrows
And wipe the sad tears off her face
He gives her hope for a better tomorrow
As he sees no debasement in her but grace

But when the morning sun shines on her brightly
She puts her prince into obliteration
As she goes back to her sleazy reality
And awaits for her first lustful patron

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Have a blessed New Year.

Dear fellow poets, it seems to me that this poem isn't well received by most of you all. Did I cross the line by writing about a whore? Is it taboo? Or this poem is simply not good enough? If you are reading this please give me some candid feedback as i would like to hear your opinions. Thank you very much.
