A Demons Night
A Demon’s Night
By LoLa
With troubled minds they drew a line in the sand
Shaky hands that understood a time to leave and a time to stand
Separated by time, too far away for her to stay
I ran into her memories; a shelter from the coming day
She begged me “please just stay with me”
I hid behind my memories and ran into the burning trees
Tears flowing from her crimson eyes; she split into a thousand screams
Why did She hold me closely then...2 ghosts inside a hopeless dream
She needed me when her demons ran free
But I sat in silence as the breeze carried her away from me
When the blind leads the blind; what is really seen?
So I watched myself watching her as we looked for answers in “we”
There were fleeting moments where we met in this place
When our minds engaged and our consciousness displaced
I let fear wash over me as I protected her from the light
my lover’s hand still holding mine; the missing bond; a demons’ night
