A Day In The Life

A day In The life. Tomorrow, I’ll have the perfect day. I’ll wake and keep quiet. I won’t find fault or moan, as soon as my eyes open. I’ll make it to lunch, Thinking before I speak. Listening before I condemn And weighing up and be more controlled, I’ll not get stressed by an outside Source, lose my temper and Have to show my remorse. By teatime I’ve holes in my tongue It’s been bitten so often, It’s like a slug attacked lettuce. At supper, I’ll watch TV I’ll pass no comment When through the plot I see. At bedtime, I’ll close my eyes Lay perfectly still And wait until you utter Your first snore. I’ll Then reflect, what a boring day. David Cox 16/05/24
