A darker shade of blue (revised October 22,2020)


I came home from work today,
and saw the note you left
It took me by surprise,
couldn't imagine what it said

You said you needed time and space...
to figure some things out
I think there's prob'ly more to this...
you left me here with my doubts

This one consumes so many emotions yet remains balanced in a universe of its own. Such a liberating one it is that the load gets lifted off easily. That attitude of letting go is clearly visible. Beautiful :)

Hints of sadness, but also an attempt to show happiness, maybe sarcasm, in this song of yours.. I like the flow and the chorus...

Thanks SO, I thinks the sadness is more than hinted at, but...happiness...no, maybe you misunderstood the chorus, he's not really happy for her, he's miserable without her, he's trying to be supportive but happiness...no..

Aw, this is such a sad resonating song of lost love, John. Nobody does it better than you, my friend. Your lyrics pluck the heartstrings with melancholy finesse: "You called me on the phone today/said you've found your one true love/I guess I was just dreaming/cause, I thought I was the one."
