A Dark Room

A dark room

I stand in a room,a dark room.
I try to see the light, but I can't.
I try to shout,
But I can't.

I sit on a chair,
I stand, I sit,
I stand.
Just like a light switch.

My heart bleeds,
Like a river,
I have a fever,
But not a dreamer.

My name appears on the wall,
As I wait for a call.
My heart fills with darkness,
And sadness becomes my middle name.

What have I done to feel such pain?
I don't get the answer what do I gain?
Tears dripping down my face,
I just need some space.

As each drop reaches the ground,
I can just feel my heart pound,
One, Two, Three...
I want to be free.

Hello Karabo!! I just commented on your other fine poem today. As with my original welcome earlier to you today on your other poem, I most certainly second SKAT's "Welcome to Poetry Soup" below. She's a most wonderful poet, among others too within the Poetry Soup community!! There are indeed many fine poets in our community. You read their poetry and they will read yours. "A dark room" is a most powerful write. Its metaphor of captivity and its supporting imagery are perfect! A "7"! Cheers, Gary
