A Daring Step Forward
A DARING STEP FORWARD
I heard a voice from God again say that it’s time to move,
He had another work for me, His will in me to prove.
And I remembered how before I said I could not go,
And how in misery I felt becaue I acted so.
So now a daring step I take, not knowing where it leads,
But knowing that if He’s with me, He’ll meet my every need.
There may be those who do not see this is God’s will for me,
They’ll gossip and they’ll criticize, and negative they’ll be.
But I don’t answer to them here, I answer to my Lord,
And if His voice I’ve clearly heard, I must obey His word.
My talents all are His to use, wherever it may be,
And as I follow His commands, the blessings I will see.
So now as I leave friends behind, another church I love,
I pray for them to keep my name before the throne above.
That I will stay right in His will and never hesitate,
And He will guide me every step as on Him I will wait.
Some day we’ll gather round the throne in God’s great land above
And share the victories we won with all we dearly love.
We’ll understand the moves He made, the daring steps we took,
And be rewarded for those works He wrote down in His book.
Till then, I want to stay in tune to hear His every voice
And go wherever He may lead, and make His will my choice.
--Dedicated to Rev. Eddy Hamby as he embarks on a new leading of God in his life, March, 2010.
