A Daddy Snake Or a Mommy Snake

A snake, peacock, dragon, and fish egg walk into a bar…
What color was the fish egg? How big was it? Where did it come from?
I start to falter a bit. I am not sure….
Okay.

What kind of snake was it? Was it a python?
I can tell a python is going to please, so I nod my head.
Eager to get on with this story which I know will amuse him.
“Is it a Daddy snake or a Mommy snake?”

By now, you can guess, I am talking to someone young.
“A daddy snake.”
Does he have hair? This is a concern now, because his daddy is losing his.
I suspected this, but he never takes off his cap anymore, so it is not verified.

Can I get on with this story?
One more question, okay, Grandma?
Okay.
“What is a bar?”
The perils of trying to tell one measly story to an inquisitive four-year-old boy.

Yes, legged eggs do, but only on the Sabbath, and only if they are sinning.
