A Cup For Us

Lightning and rock crafted the perfect cup,
the small spark ignited the exterior,
cooled quickly after their touch heated-up,
left a nice smooth feel; quite superior.

It endured much use and belligerence;
lasted through hardships, distance, and neglect.
Love's dance of fire and stone: no difference
to the vessel shared between two unchecked.

A small wistful smile, a long drawn-out sigh,
a gaze at the surface staring right back,
a memory of a love sans goodbye,
a glass once perfect sitting with a crack.

Cups can chip in intense situations,
like true love they need strong foundations.
