A Crocodile Ate Me

Before I had ever seen or heard of a crocodile
a memory of one eating me when I was a child
that’s how my last life ended, did I live on the Nile?
was I an Egyptian who suffered a fate so vile

I always knew reincarnation was a fact
the second I heard of it I was sure of that
people live one life and then come back
and as for religion it’s all absolute crap

I was just a toddler but I felt most assured
that religious beliefs were part of a fraud,
learning of crocs terrified to the core
I was given this life now as a reward

I also feel as though this is my final life
like I wont be reborn again after I die
fulfilling my purpose as is the design
I wont be on Earth but I know I’ll survive!

I hope your purpose is not to be eternal crocodile food, Nick! The idea of reincarnation is an interesting one - at a minimum, the divine, (re)combining souls with (new) bodies, begging the question, how is that decision made? What does that god look like? As a theologian, keep exploring! Religiosity for religiosity's sake alone is indeed crap, take care!

I like to think instead of one heaven you get to live again with so many different people over and over. I like to think that the holiday romance you never forget was maybe who you married last time, so you get a little bit and aren’t just separated. If God created life maybe that’s what keeps him alive, if life dies out so does God
