A Crescent Moon

pale silver sickle
hangs in the grey velvet sky~
a silent vigil.

stars begin to gleam
tiny diamonds scattered far~
a guide in darkness.

gentle light descends
touching sleepy, dreaming earth~
a hushed, soft embrace.
