Merry Christmas everyone, I wish you peace and bliss and most of all that you keep safe, well and in good spirit.” * * * Christmas won't be the same as before Tier four - no one's allowed through the door Festive joy normally extended Sadly this year it has been ended. How exciting it all used to be Surrounded by friends and family Life can be so unfair, can't it just The whole wide world has become nonplussed. Could things really get any worse For kiddies with their hearts fit to burst Pretty eyes smiling so merrily For them it'll be extraordinary. It'll be sombre for many surely Covid's taken lives prematurely Spaces at tables and empty chairs Tho' in loved one's hearts they'll still be there. We can't send gifts to Heaven above But can send the greatest gift, our love. Christmas 2020

What scares me Belle , is that this year was just the tip of the iceberg. The virus has mutated and it will mutate again and again and be more and more deadly. This monster virus has affected every corner of the world. I dislike bats, I dislike them even more now. Love your poem, a heartfelt write! A wonderful and happy Christmas my friend to you and yours. it has been such a surreal year and Christmas will be so difficult for many without having contact with their friends and family. your final two stanzas hit home hard, especially for those who have lost loved ones to the vile virus:-( hugs jan xx

So much more Could have been done earlier to prevent the mess we find ourselves in, but thats for another day. Hope you and your family have a happy Christmas and hopefully a better 2021. Tom

I agree things could have been managed better, probably came out of total lockdown soon. However we have to carry on doing our best to keep safe. Thank you Tom, Merry Christmas to you and yours and best wishes for a better New Year... Belle

Hi Belle, I agree Christmas is going to be so different this year. We will have to be creative in the way we celebrate this year as well. Whatever the case is, the main thing is our safety. Hi Alexis, indeed it will be very different this year. We have to get on with it and keep ourselves and others safe. The reason for the season remains the same as always and we have that to remember, honour and celebrate. You stay safe and well too... Belle :-)

My heart goes out to you, Belle. Your country will suffer and I am sure people are already stocking food. Can't blame them. Let's hope a solution is found quickly. No one wants to see people suffering especially these days. Fine poem. ~~

Thank you very much Victor. Some areas of the UK have got things worse than others, though it’s going to be tough for everyone this Christmas. It has come on the news that supermarkets are getting low on stocks. It’s going to be so jubilant when this pandemic comes to an end, and we’re all vaccinated and safe. Seasons greetings ~~ Belle
