A Complicated Thing
In the absence of complication,
trials and tribulations become distant memories.
Above sapphire skies delight sanguine eyes -
inspiring forthcoming musings of the mind.
In the absence of complication,
Heavenly bodies regain a romantic aura.
Stars become stars to wish upon -
The man in the moon lights the lover's tryst
But beware when complication is banished,
The mind is a most complicated thing.
It sees "boring" as neutral, ashen grey -
While "baffling" explodes in a rainbow of hues
Somewhere lies the balance
Betwixt the muse and the hard earth.
The absence of one , the presence of the other
And that is a complicated thing.
