A Colder Surface In Your Space

You saw what I saw You saw what I did I’m not asking for applause I’m not asking for you to forgive You witness through the night And in the hours of daylight But do you know how I feel? Even though you see me live Do you listen to my mind? Do you see the fear inside? You’ve always been that light Shining through the darkest night Helping me get back to sleep when my mind needed the deepest need You’ve always been my friend I’ve talked to you for hours on end But now I see a change in face I see a colder surface in your space You did see what I saw, you did see what I did. Every time I look at you it’s there before me and it will never be rid I’m sorry my friend. I’m sorry. Though you never heard what I said, you never asked me to stop. I’m sorry my moon friend, I’m sorry you see my conscience won’t free me and so you witness my end.
