A Cold Dark Night

This poem was done without using the letter e anywhere in it.

A cold dark night
Chips off hard rain
On my car mirror
Long is this night
Dark as sin
Don't stay out this night
All stay in and out of harm
Rays of light  show with morning dawn
Kava I will drink with lights ray
Not all I do will show
In first hours of the dawn
Guard fast your gifts tonight
Hold fast what is yours 
This is a cold dark night

I think in all my time here, I have done two similar poems for contests sponsors that asked us to not use some certain vowel. You did really well. It's so hard to pull this off Charles Reese May 8, 2026 at 8:02 AM I wrote this when I was on a previous site 20 years ago the site didn't have contest it had challenges and the challenge was to write a poem any style without the letter e I chose acrostic because of the lack of rules glad you liked it

BG Charles Reese August 27, 2014 at 10:04 AM I did the first draft around 10 years ago on another poetry site. It's not was not easy doing a poem without the letter e. The acrostic style helps as there r not that many rules to it.
