A Close of Day

aloft in the sky
this cloudless day
the stream
of southbound planes
x marks the spot
where you stood
a linger inside
my thoughts

a tender touch
in fingered breeze
your breath
upon my flesh

a blush within
a wayward sun
setting to my west

The last seven lines are to die for. So well phrased: Endearing and enduring. As Anne-Lise commented below: 'over and over again.' I feel exactly the same way. Blessings, Gershon

thank you my friend...the sky was cloudless but there was a big x to the west...i actually caught a photo a similar moment years ago, in the setting sun, reflecting on the stream...it was gorgeous....i think the photo is in with a poem on here, well maybe not that i am no longer a paid member...:) hugs

One can certainly feel that fingered breeze in this beautiful poem. This makes the reader sigh and gaze to the horizon in hopes of seeing the beauty your words describe.
