With a click and a clack our seat belts were on,
Then the thump of the closing door,
And the key turned slow in the hole that it owned,
Then the engine, it let out a roar.
Our tyres screeched free as we sped out of town,
As we fled across hills painted green,
We took nothing, zip, nought, no food, no bags,
Nope nothing, not even sunscreen.
Four hours went whoosh when we drove straight ahead,
Drove to the beach bright and blue.
There we stood in the waves, just stood and relaxed,
We’d escaped for the day. You should too....
